Alex is a Senior Compositor with experience working on numerous feature films. He has worked at top VFX studios worldwide - including Weta Digital, Industrial Light and Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, and more

Journey into VFX
I started out like many VFX artists - shooting my own videos and adding visual effects to them!
This grew into greenscreen effects, 3D Renders, and short films.
However, at one point I came to a harsh realization:
The tools and techniques I was using were not the ones top professionals were using.
I was using After Effects, while every major behind the scenes of movies were talking about NUKE. This was the skillset I had to learn!
If I wanted to turn this into a career instead of a hobby, NUKE was essential.
Realizing Dreams Through VFX
Once I learned Nuke and built a DEMO REEL, my dreams became reality.
Breaking into top studios like Weta Digital and Industrial Light and Magic allowed me to contribute to STAR WARS and AVENGERS—two lifelong missions!
The journey here was anything but simple—it was confusing and a very windy road.
That's why I founded Compositing Academy.
My MISSION: to lower the ladder and help others BREAK INTO VFX without facing the immense struggles and high costs I did.
