Compositing Academy Fire Elements — License Agreement
Effective date: September 24, 2025
This License Agreement governs your use of the Compositing Academy Fire Elements asset files including, without limitation, video files, image sequences, previews, metadata, and documentation. By downloading or using the Files, you agree to these terms.
1. Definitions
Files means all fire element assets you obtain from Compositing Academy, including updates and variants.
Finished Work means a media product where the Files are transformed and embedded such that end users cannot extract or use the Files as standalone assets. Examples include films, series, ads, reels, music videos, trailers, and social content.
Project Files means any files you share that enable others to recreate your work or access source assets such as Nuke scripts, AE projects, Blender projects, scene files, class downloads, Patreon packs, Gumroad packs, or course materials.
You means the licensee identified at checkout or download.
2. Ownership
Compositing Academy owns all rights, title, and interest in the Files. The Files are licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
3. License Tiers and Grant
Choose the tier that fits your situation. Each license is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and worldwide.
3.1 Personal Use License (Free)
For individuals only. Permitted uses:
Personal projects and reels.
Student reels and practice work.
Independent films with total production budgets under 10,000 USD.
Not permitted under Personal:
Client or commissioned work of any kind.
Educational use including tutorials, courses, classes, workshops, training materials, school distribution, or inclusion in any Project Files you publish or distribute.
Studio or team use of any size.
3.2 Independent Freelancer License
For one individual freelancer or a company with a single employee. Permitted uses:
Unlimited client projects and personal projects.
Embedding in Finished Work delivered to clients.
Seat count: 1 user.
Not permitted: Educational redistribution or inclusion in Project Files, template packs, or course materials.
3.3 Small Studio License
For teams of up to 5 people. Permitted uses:
Unlimited commercial projects for your clients.
Internal sharing among licensed team members only.
Seat count: up to 5 users.
Not permitted: Educational redistribution or inclusion in Project Files, template packs, or course materials.
3.4 Independent Studio License
For teams of up to 20 people. Permitted uses:
Unlimited commercial projects for your clients.
Internal sharing among licensed team members only.
Seat count: up to 20 users.
Not permitted: Educational redistribution or inclusion in Project Files, template packs, or course materials.
3.5 VFX Studio License
For organizations with more than 20 employees. Permitted uses:
Unlimited commercial projects across the organization.
Internal sharing among licensed team members only.
Seat count: organization-wide within a single legal entity.
Not permitted: Educational redistribution or inclusion in Project Files, template packs, or course materials.
4. General Permissions
Subject to your tier:
You may edit, color, retime, comp, convert, and otherwise modify the Files.
You may embed the Files in Finished Work for any media, including theatrical, broadcast, streaming, web, social, and games.
You may make reasonable backup copies for archival purposes.
Subcontractors and vendors working on your specific project may access the Files only under your supervision, solely for that project, and count against seat limits unless they hold their own license.
5. Prohibited Uses
The following are prohibited for all tiers unless you obtain a Custom Educational or Distribution License in writing from Compositing Academy:
Educational distribution and teaching use: using the Files in any tutorials, classes, workshops, lectures, courses, training programs, masterclasses, school handouts, lab computers, online learning platforms, or cohort materials.
Redistribution in Project Files: including or embedding the Files, unaltered or modified, in any downloadable or shareable Project Files, lesson assets, Patreon or Gumroad packs, Discord packs, teacher portals, Git repositories, or similar.
Resale or sublicensing: reselling, licensing, sharing, lending, or distributing the Files, whether standalone or as part of stock libraries, plugins, presets, templates, or asset bundles.
Making the Files extractable: distributing the Files or derivatives in a way that allows recipients to access them as separate assets.
Trademark or logo use suggesting endorsement by Compositing Academy.
Training data: using the Files to train or fine-tune AI or machine learning models.
Illegal, defamatory, or infringing uses.
6. Credit
Credit is appreciated but not required for general client work. For student reels and behind-the-scenes posts, please credit:

7. Delivery, Updates, and Support
Files are delivered digitally. Updates may be provided at Compositing Academy’s discretion and may include fixes or improvements to existing assets. Support is limited to reasonable assistance for download or file integrity.
8. Term and Termination
This license begins upon download and continues unless terminated. Compositing Academy may terminate the license if you breach these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the Files and delete all copies, except embedded use already delivered in Finished Work may continue.
9. Fees and Taxes
For paid tiers, all fees are due at purchase. Prices exclude applicable taxes, which are your responsibility.
10. Refunds
All sales are final due to the nature of digital goods. If a file is corrupted or fails to download, contact support for replacement.
11. Liability and Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compositing Academy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable license. You agree to indemnify Compositing Academy from claims arising from your use of the Files in violation of this Agreement.
12. Transfer and Assignment
You may not transfer, assign, or sublicense this license to any other person or entity without prior written consent.
13. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Venue and jurisdiction shall lie in Quebec courts.
14. Custom Educational or Distribution Licenses
If you are an educator, school, training provider, course creator, or wish to include Files in downloadable Project Files, contact us to arrange a custom license that fits your program and distribution needs.
15. Email List Agreement
By downloading or using the Files, you agree to join the Compositing Academy email list. This allows us to provide you with updates, tutorials, product releases, and important information related to your license. You may unsubscribe at any time, but initial consent is a condition of receiving the Files.
